West MacDonnell Ranges National Park is open all year round, famous for its Ochre Pits and Simpson Gap, the park hosts a variety of plants and animals not found anywhere else. Fink Gorge National Park also provides a number of walking and 4WD trails spanning across 46,000 square kilometres, with Palm Valley its main attraction.
Consider a trip to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park home to iconic Uluru, considered to be the spiritual heart of Australia. Located 462 kilometres South-West of Alice Springs, Uluru provides tourist with stunning outback scenery. Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is accessible by car on sealed or unsealed roads, with multiple tour operators running daily trips from Alice Springs.
Alice Springs is rich in wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, dingoes, thorny devil’s and frill neck lizards. Visit the Alice Springs Reptile Centre to see the collection of deadly snakes, Terry the saltwater crocodile and so much more.
Araluen Cultural Precinct is the hub of indigenous culture in Alice Springs with the centre itself showcasing traditional and contemporary Aboriginal art. There are a number of centres within the precinct providing talks and guided tours for those wishing to learn more.
